Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The governor disclosed this today through a statement he personally signed.
Umahi said some of his aides also tested positive for the virus.
He noted that they all remained asymptomatic but in self-isolation in line with the protocols of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
He also directed his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, to take over the administration of the state while advising residents to take all precautions outlined by health authorities to curb the spread of the virus.
