Dupe Olusola, Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, has unveiled the Next Generation Foundation, a philanthropic initiative aimed at transforming the lives of underserved and vulnerable children in Nigeria through education.
Olusola, whose career has been rooted in empowerment and social impact, is driven by a deep conviction in education’s ability to shape futures. The foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education and the opportunities that come with it.
“Education opens doors to endless possibilities, especially for children who might otherwise be marginalized,” Olusola said. “Nigeria has one of the world’s largest populations of out-of-school children. With the Next Generation Foundation, I hope we can play a pivotal role in addressing this challenge and offering a brighter future.”
To commemorate her 50th birthday, Olusola introduced the foundation’s flagship initiative, the 50 by 50 Project—a scholarship program set to begin in the 2024/2025 academic year. The initiative will provide full scholarships for 50 children, aged 6 to 18, from low-income families.
The 50 by 50 Project will cover tuition, books, school uniforms, nutrition programs, healthcare services, and mentorship. Initially focused on the FCT, Lagos, and Ogun States, the initiative will be supported by partnerships with leading education-focused social impact organizations.
Through the Next Generation Foundation, Dupe Olusola not only aims to provide access to education but also advocates for broader education reforms across Nigeria.
