Femi Ashekun/

A 20-year-old student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Emmanuel Nduka, has finally met his role model, Tony Elumelu, after the UBA Chairman noticed his inspirational LinkedIn post and offered him a special invite to his upcoming mentorship session.

The chemical engineering student achieved sudden when he wrote a brief bio, stating his life’s journey and mentioned Elumelu as his role model in a LinkedIn post, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

in the post Nduka, described Elumelu as the “pioneer of Africapitalism”.

His post reads:

I posted this and different people were asking, Where is your bag? Where is your red sock?

Yes! I don’t have any of those things and it denotes the following.

My role model has successfully secured the bag but I am still in the process of securing mine and it’s going to be quite a long journey.

Furthermore, I believe the red socks are connected to his brand, perhaps, as the chairman of the Heirs Holdings, United Bank For Africa (UBA) and Founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation

I am neither a founder nor do I have any company but anyways, right from childhood, I have always loved red and still do now. So it will still be incorporated into my brand.

So you see, as much as I am in support of the legacy of Tony O. Elumelu, C.O.N, the pioneer of Africapitalisim, I can’t be exactly like him.

Eventually, and in the long run, I will have my legacy and finally secure the bag but meanwhile, I am simply Emmanuel Nduka, pioneer of the student’s voice on Linkedin and an aspiring generational leader. 👑

Do well to follow your boy.

Nduka today shared photos of himself with Elumelu, as well as a group photo taken with the businessman during the recently held mentorship programme on his LinkedIn page.

He expressed joy at the rare privilege as he looked forward to implementing all that was taught.

He also appreciated the businessman for the opportunity as he expressed excitement at finally meeting his mentor.

Nduka said he intends to put to work all the knowledge he gathered at the mentorship.
