Doctors at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi have successfully separated a parasitic twin, who did not completely form in the womb, from his brother.
The child, named Abubakar Sani, was reportedly born through natural delivery two months ago in Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi State.

Reports say the baby’s twin brother had stopped developing during gestation period and was still physically attached to his fully developed brother when they were delivered.
A team of doctors led by consultant pediatric surgeon Kefas J. Bwala, on February 20, successfully carried out a three and half-hour surgery to remove the parasitic twin.
Reports say the baby is expected to recover within ten days.
