Also at the police station, the Senator who could no longer stand on his feet was carried by the two men into one of the offices.

At a point, the Senator appeared to have some difficulty in breathing and a member of his entourage could be seen administering an inhaler on him.

Melaye was reportedly accompanied by his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, and some of his colleagues to the office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Guzape district, Abuja.
Police authorities had alleged some persons in the senator’s entourage shot and injured a policeman, Sergeant Danjuma Saliu, in July 2018, while on duty in Kogi State.
