Delta Gov’t Urges Young Graduates to Apply for Nigerian Army SSC/DSSC Course 48/2025 Recruitment

Delta State Government has appealed to eligible male and female young graduates in the state, to apply for the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service recruitment, known as SSC/DSSC combatant Course 48/2025.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe,  application is ongoing and will close on 15th September, 2024.

Dr. Oghenesivbe called on interested applicants to log on to the Nigerian Army website; www.recruitmrnt.army.mil.ng to complete free online application and attach relevant documents/passport photos.

Dr. Oghenesivbe outlined the eligibility criteria, noting that the male and female applicants must be Nigerian citizens, as defined by the Nigerian Constitution, and must be between the ages of 23 and 27 by January 2025. Additionally, candidates are required to hold at least a second-class lower division degree in Arts, Sciences, or Humanities from an accredited higher education institution. He also highlighted the need for applicants to be physically, mentally, and medically fit according to Nigerian Army standards, with no criminal records or convictions.

He further clarified that the recruitment is open to both civilian and serving military personnel. Upon completion of training and successful commissioning, officers will be assigned to various corps within the Nigerian Army, including Artillery, Engineering, Signals, and Intelligence. Dr. Oghenesivbe also mentioned that applicants must be endorsed by at least two recognized referees, who could be a Local Government Council Chairman/Secretary or a senior officer of the Armed Forces not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, or an equivalent rank like Assistant Commissioner of Police, hailing from the applicant’s state of origin.

He stated that the Nigerian Army SSC/DSSC recruitment is in tandem with the Job and Wealth Creation programmes of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as encapsulated in his MORE agenda, which is why the state government is urging all eligible male and female young graduates in Delta State to apply for the ongoing recruitment.
