A High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has sentenced three men to death by hanging for the gruesome murder of a couple, Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye, and their son, Oreoluwa, on New Year’s Day in 2023.
Justice Basirat Adebowale delivered the judgment on Monday after a marathon session lasting over three hours. The convicted individuals—Adekambi Lekan, the former driver of the deceased; Odetola Ahmed; and Adeniyi Waheed—were found guilty of the brutal killing of the family.
The three convicts had been arraigned alongside six others: Fadairo Temitope (wife of the first defendant), Adekambi Adenike (mother of the first defendant), Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, Usman Azeez, Abass Odetola, and Adewusi Lukman.
The court’s ruling marks a significant step in the pursuit of justice for the slain family, whose tragic deaths had sent shockwaves across Ogun State.
