Oh, dear father, thank you for sending me to Abeokuta Girls Grammar School (AGGS), a place where I gained life’s most essential lessons – academic excellence, personal growth, and true liberation.
AGGS was never a place of confinement, but a sanctuary where aspirations flourished. Your towering walls, dear AGGS, symbolized prestige and promise, shaping futures and instilling confidence in every girl who walked through your gates.
You taught us more than academics. From social refinement to civic awareness, you laid the foundation for success. While some may misconstrue their boarding school experiences, ours was exceptional.
AGGS was not restrictive, it was nurturing. It was a fertile ground where young minds expanded, hearts thrived freely, and education opened doors to boundless opportunities.
You instilled in us values, grace, and decorum, empowering us to excel boldly in any field. For this, I remain eternally grateful to my father for giving me the privilege of learning within your walls, dear AGGS.
Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, you are truly outstanding; a place of knowledge, affection, and freedom. Forever cherished, you’ll never be likened to a place of confinement. To suggest otherwise, even for political gain, is simply unfounded.
