Dangote Refinery has announced the commencement of its free fuel distribution initiative starting Monday, September 15.
This move aims to alleviate the financial burden on Nigerians by providing petrol at significantly reduced prices.
In Lagos and the South West, the new retail price is set at N841 per litre, while in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta states, the price will be N851 per litre.
This reduction marks a substantial decrease from previous prices, offering consumers much-needed relief.
The distribution will initially cover Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo states, with plans to expand to other regions as logistics capabilities grow.
To facilitate this, Dangote Refinery has introduced over 1,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks, with an additional 4,000 expected to be deployed nationwide.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance fuel distribution efficiency and reduce costs.
The refinery is also inviting petrol station owners nationwide to register for participation in the free delivery scheme, aiming to broaden the reach and impact of this programme.
This initiative is expected to stimulate economic activity by lowering transportation costs and providing more affordable fuel options to consumers.
This development comes amid ongoing discussions about fuel pricing and distribution in Nigeria, highlighting Dangote Refinery’s commitment to contributing positively to the nation’s energy sector.
