Dangote Refinery has denied claims that it set the petrol price at N600 per litre, a rumour spread by marketers yesterday.

Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the company, clarified in a statement that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not affiliated with the refinery and cannot speak on its behalf.

“Our attention has been drawn to headlines suggesting that ‘Marketers Project N600/litre for Dangote Petrol,’ published by Punch Newspapers on August 13, 2024.

“We want to make it clear that IPMAN is not our business partner, and we have never discussed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them. They have no authority to speak for us,” the statement said.

Dangote Refinery urged the public to ignore such speculative claims and emphasized that any official information will be communicated through its official channels.
