Specially trained tactical and conventional policemen have been deployed to further fortify security in Zamfara communities, says police authority in the state.
According to Zamfara State police spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, the move was part of the renewed commitment of the Commissioner of Police (CP), Abutu Yaro, to expand the existing number of police outfits in the state for a better and effective service delivery especially to villages and communities in the hinterland so that day to day security threats by unrepentant bandits and other criminal elements on communities can be promptly checkmated and dealt with accordingly.
Shehu said the move by the CP would also deepen Community Policing and Partnership with greater Zamfara Population as he called for a robust police-public partnership to checkmate the activities of criminal elements being flushed out in the state.
Shehu stated: “The Zamfara State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro fdc, has created 10 additional police outstations in different villages of the State. He has also deployed Tactical and Conventional Police Personnel to the newly created outstations in order to promptly respond to distress calls and provide effective and efficient security services to the communities so that members of the public can have confidence to go about their legitimate business.”
He listed the newly created Police Outstations and their local governments as: 1. Hayin Dan – Hausa — Gusau LGA, 2. Yandoto — Tsafe LGA, 3. Aljumma Hausaw — Maradun LGA, 4. Janbako — Maradun LGA, 5. Tashar Rogo — T/Mafara LGA, 6. Bobo — T/Mafara LGA, 7. Mayanchi — Maru LGA, 8. Amumo — Bakura LGA, 9. Gambanda — Gummi LGA, 10. Bilbis — Tsafe LGA.
Shehu added: “The Commissioner of Police while deploying the Police Personnel to the new outstations, charged them to be responsive, professional and work in collaboration with the host communities. On the other hand, he urged the benefiting communities to symbiotically embed the Police into the communities with required logistics and the needed support to function optimally. He assured members of the public that more of such initiatives are underway to ensure villages and communities that are far away from security emplacement are brought closer through the ongoing Police Village Patrol initiative.
“While warning the recalcitrant elements to renounce banditry and turn to a new life, he appealed to all and sundry to continue to synergize with the Police and other security agencies in the state by providing credible and timely information on criminal activities for a quick response.”
