In a move to enhance school security across Anambra State, Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu has intensified efforts under the Police Safe School Initiative.

During a school visit yesterday, CP Orutugu reiterated the importance of proactive security measures to safeguard students, teachers, and school staff from potential threats.

Accompanied by the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hon. Ify Obinabo, the CP reassured Ndi Anambra and residents that security forces have taken control of the streets, particularly on Mondays, to counter disruptions caused by the illegal Sit-at-Home order. He urged businesses to operate without fear, emphasizing that social and economic activities in the state have significantly improved.

The Police Safe School Initiative focuses on crime prevention, collaboration with school administrators and communities, and providing essential security resources to educational institutions. The initiative aims to foster a secure learning environment, curb criminal activities, and strengthen public confidence in school safety.

The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring peace and security across the state. The CP called on the public to support law enforcement efforts, stressing that collective vigilance and cooperation are crucial to securing the state’s future.
