The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to intelligence-led and community-driven policing as part of efforts to strengthen security collaboration across the state.

Ojajuni made the pledge today while attending the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), where he engaged critical stakeholders on strategies for improving community policing, intelligence sharing, and public safety coordination in Ogun State.

The police boss attended the meeting alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Murtala Bolanle, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on sustained stakeholder engagement and partnership-driven policing.

The meeting provided a platform for interactions between the police and community leaders, with discussions centred on strengthening existing security partnerships, improving early response mechanisms, and deepening trust between residents and law enforcement agencies.

Speaking during the engagement, the PCRC Chairman, Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, commended CP Ojajuni for personally attending the monthly meeting, describing the development as unprecedented in the history of the Ogun State Police Command.

According to him, it was the first time a serving Commissioner of Police in Ogun State would physically participate in a PCRC monthly engagement, a move he said demonstrated genuine commitment to community policing and inclusive security management.

Abdullahi pledged the continued support of the PCRC towards sustaining peace and security across the state through collaboration, advocacy, and intelligence sharing.

In his remarks, Ojajuni appreciated members of the PCRC and other stakeholders for their consistent support to the police through community engagement and information sharing, which he noted had contributed significantly to operational effectiveness in the state.

He stressed that effective policing cannot succeed without active collaboration between the police and the public, adding that sustained stakeholder engagement remains vital in tackling emerging security threats and ensuring the safety of lives and property.

The Commissioner further assured residents that the Ogun State Police Command would continue to deepen partnerships with communities in line with ongoing national policing reforms aimed at promoting proactive and people-oriented policing.
