The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has decorated 430 newly promoted junior police officers across the state command, describing the exercise as a reflection of the welfare-focused leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters and other formations across the state, saw six Sergeants elevated to the rank of Inspector, four Corporals promoted to Sergeant, and 420 Constables decorated as Corporals.
Ojajuni said the promotions underscored the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to rewarding hard work, professionalism, dedication, and loyalty to duty.
Speaking during the ceremony, the police commissioner commended the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising the welfare, motivation, and career progression of officers and men of the force.
According to him, timely promotion remains a vital tool for boosting morale and encouraging personnel to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see their elevation as a call to greater discipline, professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service.
Ojajuni also charged the officers to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force by respecting human rights, adhering to the rule of law, and discharging their duties with utmost responsibility.
The commissioner further assured that the Ogun State Police Command would continue to prioritise personnel welfare and support initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, improving operational efficiency, and promoting excellence in service delivery in line with global policing standards.
