CP Idowu Owohunwa today formally took over the reins of the Lagos State police command from his predecessor, Abiodun Alabi, who has been promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police and moved to Zone ‘2’ Command, Onikan, Lagos.
Owohunwa who hails from Kogi State, holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Studies and Policing from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
A Chevening Scholar, he holds a Diploma in Police Strategic Management from the University of Virginia, USA. He is a graduate of the globally recognized FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, USA.
Owohunwa served as PSO-IGP between 2015 and 2016, and as PSO to the immediate past IGP, Mohammed Adamu. He is still Principal Staff Officer to IGP Alkali Baba.
