A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Communication, Dr Doyin Okupe, has decried the level of distrust in the country after he was accused of lying about his COVID-19 status.

Okupe, yesterday, disclosed that he and his wife, Aduralere, were discharged from the Ogun State government isolation facility in Sagamu after recovering from COVID-19.

But taking to his social media pages, today, the former presidential aide lamented the fact that some people said his claim of having contracted COVID-19 was a scam.

To prove them wrong, Okupe went ahead to share some of pictures of himself while he was undergoing treatment at the isolation centre.

Okupe wrote, “It is sad the level of distrust in this country. Some people wrote on my Facebook wall that in spite of my post, that all the covid19 talk is a scam. And that I should post a video to convince them. Well I dont hv a video. But after our first negative results we felt relieved for the 1st time and my wife took some snapshots just for the record.

“It’s such a pity that we hv allowed things to degenerate to this level of citizens disconnect. By God’s Grace we shall rebuild this country and restore confidence in both leadership and government.”
