COVID-19: DIG Abdulmajid Ali Donates Relief Materials to the Needy

Following the path of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration and other philanthropists, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Operations, Abdulmajid Ali has dished out palliatives worth over N1.5 million to the less privileged at Lugbe Area in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Thursday. 

NewsmakersNG learnt that the Police boss derives pleasure in putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians and adding values to mankind. He runs a Non-Governmental Organization named MJ Foundation with many Orphanages in Kontagora, Niger State and some other parts of the country. He has been giving scholarships, health care services and empowerments to many Nigerians over the past decade.

A statement signed by Ali’s personal assistant, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, says: “The relief items, which were shared amidst COVID-19 preventive measures, by the immediate members of the Deputy Inspector General of Police led by his philanthropic and kind-hearted wife, Hajjia  Idiat Ali, included rice, beans, beverages, fruits and items of clothing.

“The Police boss, however, seized the opportunity to educate and appeal to the residents of Lugbe Area of the FCT and other Nigerians that COVID-19 is real, and every Nigerian should collaborate with the Federal Government of Nigeria and governments at all levels to fight the pandemic which is inimical to our existence and national development. He further felicitated with Islamic faithful on the incoming Ramadan period and prayed that the Almighty Allah (SWT) heals our land of the pandemic.”
