COVID-19: Cititrust Donates Foodstuff to Lagos State Govt

Leading investment management company, Cititrust Group, has donated foodstuff to the Lagos State government to support its efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.

Cititrust team, led by the Chairman of its COVID-19 Response Committee, Mr. Kunle Adewole, presented the items to Ikeja Constituency 1 of the state, through the member representing the constituency, Honourable Folajimi Lai Mohammed, on Friday, April 10, in Ikeja.

Dignitaries who witnessed event include Chief of Staff to Lagos State governor, Mr. Tayo Ayinde; leading politicians, Dr. Yomi Finnih and Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson; and Hon. Folajimi Lai-Mohammed, among others.

Adewole, who spoke on behalf of the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yemi Adefisan, said Cititrust had made similar donations to the Osun State government and governments of Kenya, South Africa and eight other African countries.

Adefisan said Cititrust donated the foodstuff comprising 1000 bags of rice, 100 cartons of noodles and 20 cartons of vegetable oil to support the state government’s efforts in providing palliatives for the vulnerable to cushion the effect of the lockdown.

He further emphasised that it has been shown the world over that citizens’ attitude is very crucial to stopping the spread of the virus, and therefore urged Nigerians to adhere strictly to all the directives of government, particularly with regards to movement restriction, social distancing and hand hygiene.

“We urge our fellow citizens to adhere strictly to the precautionary measures prescribed by the World Health Organization, the Federal Government, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control and the Lagos State Government to successfully contain outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the country and completely eradicate it,” Adefisan added.
