COVID-19: 48 Patients Discharged as Nigeria Records Drop in New Cases

Nigeria recorded a significant drop in the number of daily COVID-19 infections today, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 229 new cases.

The country recorded 313 cases yesterday.

Lagos State which is the epicentre of the pandemic also saw a drop in the number of daily infections with 90 new cases as against 148 it recorded yesterday.

The agency also disclosed in its daily Twitter update that 48 patients recovered from the disease and were discharged today.

Seven COVID-19 related deaths were however recorded, two more than yesterday’s tally.

As of today, the country has recorded a total 8,068 cases of COVID-19, with 2,311 recoveries and 233 fatalities.
