Court Rejects Evans’ Bid to Quash Murder Charge

Ololade Adeyanju/

Alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, has failed in his bid to avoid being tried for murder.

A Lagos State High Court in Igbosere today dismissed two applications filed by his counsel Olukoya Ogungbeje to quash charges of murder and illegal sales of firearms preferred against him.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo described the applications as misconceived and lacking in merit.

The judgment has now paved way for Evans to be arraigned for the offences of murder and illegal sales of firearms in addition to the initial charges of conspiracy and kidnapping.
