An estimated N15billion, in various denominations, found in Flat 7b at 17, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos now belongs to the Federal Government.

Justice Sule Hassan of a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the money today.

The judge pronounced that the monies which are: $43, 447,943, £27, 800, 000, and N23.218million, be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria, because they are suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

Prior to the granting of order of final forfeiture, the court had earlier dismissed an application filed by a lawyer, Olukayode Ogungbeje, seeking a stay of proceedings of the final forfeiture of the said monies, for lack of merit.
