A Lagos Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu has granted bail to two minors held without a charge by the police since August this year.
The minors, Tunde Ogunsola,15, and Oladipupo Ibrahim, 17, were reportedly picked up in a random raid in Ikorodu.
They were eventually arraigned in court today following the intervention of a civil society organisation.
They were both charged with armed robbery but the court stated that the evidence and statements by the police did not support the charge.
The court consequently ordered that both minors should be released on bail and fixed further hearing for November 25.
A member of the organisation that secured their release, in a tweet, urged relations of the two to show up to process their bail.
