My London/
London’s coronavirus cases almost doubled overnight as every single borough now has at least one confirmed coronavirus infection.
There are now 313 confirmed Covid-19 diagnoses in London, up from 167 the day before. Several boroughs have also seen the number of cases more than double in their areas.
Southwark, which had 13 cases on Friday (March 13) now has 28, the second-most for any local authority in the country.
It overtook Kensington and Chelsea, which had previously had the most cases in London. Despite an increase of six to 27 confirmed cases, it is now in second place.
Newham, the only borough to have had no cases now has one. Croydon and Redbridge also have just one case of the virus which has already claimed 21 lives in the UK, eight in London.
Lambeth saw the biggest increase, from nine cases to 25, the third-highest in the city.
Westminster had 11 new confirmed cases, taking it to 24 and Ealing and Brent both had 10 new cases overnight, reaching a total of 18 and 14 respectively.
The spread of the virus at an ever-increasing rate has led to criticism from the government for more stringent measures not being taken like cancellation of public gatherings, lockdowns on flights and cities and closing of schools like other European countries around us.

But on Sunday (March 15), Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced elderly people will be asked to isolate themselves in their homes for up to four months.
Regular doorstep deliveries of groceries, medicine and other supplies will be sent to the elderly during the quarantine expected “in the coming weeks”.
He also confirmed that ministers were seeking to give police powers to arrest and forcibly quarantine people who are sick with the virus but are not self-isolating.
