The Governors, in a communiqué made available to journalists by Chairman of the Northwest Givernors Forum and Katsina Governor, Aminu Masari, said the decision became imperative to prevent the spread of coronavirus across the northwest.
Katsina recorded its first suspected case of coronavirus today.
The governors who met in Kaduna, alongside heads of security agencies in the zone, also reviewed security strategies and the fight against banditry.
Govenor Masari said the closure will take effect from Monday, March 23.
