Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has revealed plans to fumigate every part of the state to further check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on his personal Twitter handle, @jidesanwoolu, today.
The governor also shared pictures of some of the equipment acquired for the exercise.
He however did not disclose when the process would commence.
His tweets read, “To ensure we keep our environment safe and curtail the contagion of #COVID19, we are deploying disinfectant equipment to fumigate the entire state.
“These fumigation machines, will be deployed to every part of the metropolis for sterilization of our public spaces & surfaces.
“We are very aggressive in our efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus in the State.
“We all have to #TakeResponsibility and do our part in ensuring we remain safe and healthy.”
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has commenced fumigation of the State House, Abuja, following reports that Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and three of his key staff tested positive for coronavirus.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the exercise started this morning and would cover all the offices at the Presidential Villa.
