The visit, which commenced on December 24, 2025, was undertaken in line with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and focused on assessing artillery resources, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing combat support for troops in the North East.

During the visit, the CCA evaluated artillery capabilities and engaged key operational stakeholders with a view to refining OPHK’s targeting systems for greater precision and effectiveness.

He described their contributions to peace and stability in the North East as “highly commendable” and urged them to sustain the operational tempo.
He further reassured the troops of the COAS’ commitment to addressing operational challenges and improving logistics and combat capabilities to enhance the effectiveness of artillery support to Nigerian Army operations.

Highlights of the visit included operational briefings, commissioning of key projects, and morale-boosting engagements with officers and soldiers.
