The Lagos State Government has announced the appointment of CSP Adetayo Akerele as the new Chairman of the Lagos Environmental and Special Offenses Unit, aka Lagos Taskforce.
This strategic move places CSP Akerele, a distinguished administrator and highly regarded officer, at the helm of the unit responsible for enforcing environmental regulations and addressing special offenses across the state.
Prior to this appointment, CSP Akerele served as the BRT Lane Monitoring and Enforcement Commander, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational skills. His experience in managing complex enforcement activities is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the Lagos Taskforce.
This appointment follows the reassignment of the former Taskforce Chairman, CSP Shola Jejeloye, who has been named the Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS). Both appointments are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance law enforcement efficiency and ensure public safety.
According to a statement from the Director, Press & Public Affairs
Lagos State Taskforce, Mr. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the new appointments are effective immediately, marking the beginning of a new chapter for both the Lagos Taskforce and the RRS.
