CBN Governor Condemns Otedola’s Son-in-Law over Dreadlocks

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele has reportedly tongue-lashed the betrothed husband of the daughter of billionaire businessman, Mr Femi Otedola, for wearing dreadlocks as a panellist at the 2018 Bankers Committee Retreat in Abuja.

Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, aka Mr Eazi, a Nigerian singer, entrepreneur and pioneer of Banku music who was recently engaged to the billionaire’s daughter, Temi Otedola, became a laughing stock on social media after Emefiele described his dreadlocks as irresponsible.

Emefiele later added that that was his first impression of Mr Eazi.

Mr Eazi, who appeared not bothered about the uncomplimentary remark placed a post on his Instagram page after saying: “Today, alongside my mentor@chikanwobi I sat on a panel at the 2018 Bankers Committee Retreat talking ‘De-Risking the Creative & Service Industries’ on invitation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria & CEO’s of the Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria! So glad to see the Nigerian banking industry commit towards the future of NigerianCreatives! Super Excited #LifeisEazi.”
