CBN Establishes N1B Bankers’ Charitable Endowment Fund

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has announced the establishment of a one billion naira Bankers’ Charitable Endowment Fund.

Emefiele announced this in his keynote address at the Annual Bankers’ Dinner organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) this evening in Abuja.

The CBN in a statement via @cenbank said the Endowment Fund will be used to fund a major charitable initiative every year starting in 2020.

“The Bankers’ Charitable Endowment will directly fund strategic social programmes in states and local communities across Nigeria,” the statement adds.
