President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting but met with Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa today.
After the meeting, the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali told reporters at a briefing: “President Muhammadu Buhari gave approval for the purchase of more equipment for the military, worth $1 billion.”
Among those at the Security meeting are Minister of Defence, Brig Gen Mansur Dan Ali; Chief of Defence Staff General Abayomi Olonosakin.
Others are Chief of Army Staff, Lt.- Gen. T.Y Buratai and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
