Citizens of other African nations will no longer be required to obtain a visa before travelling to Nigeria from January 2020.
President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly announced this today at ongoing ASWAN Forum on Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa, holding in Aswan, Egypt.
Somalian Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Ahmed Awad, disclosed this in a tweet this evening.
He wrote: “I wish to profoundly commend President @MBuhari of Nigeria who just announced at the Aswan Forum complete visa exemption for all Africans. Starting January 2020 Africans will be able to arrive in Nigeria without visas. It’s such an exemplary decision. Thanks your Excellency.”
