Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, this morning stormed the Port Harcourt residence of former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh, and freed her from police siege.
On his arrival at the residence, the governor ordered armed policemen blockading the building out of the way.
He then proceeded to enter the house and was seen driving her off alongside his convoy.
Armed police officers, numbering about 20, had laid siege at Nunieh’s residence hours to her appearance before a national assembly panel investigating corruption allegations in the NDDC.
