The US Congress has certified the election of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.
The certification, a constitutional requirement, was done hours after supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump invaded the Capitol building to stop the process of certifying the election.
At least four people have been reported dead from the ensuing violence unleashed by the pro-Trump mob on the Capitol building.
The action of the Trump supporters has been condemned by American and world leaders.
