Security was this morning beefed up around the Federal High Court in Abuja as the trial of convener of #RevolutionNow Protest, Omoyele Sowore and his co-accused, Olawale Bakare, began.
The two are facing charges of treasonable felony and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.
Heavily-armed policemen were stationed within and around the court premises while officers of Explosive Ordinance Squad were seen screening the court room before the commencement of trial.
The trial commenced at about 9.40am after Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu arrived the court room.
The court registrar subsequently called the case after which Sowore and Bakare entered the dock.
Justice Ojukwu had on November 6, 2019 adjourned trial in the matter to December 5.
