Breaking: Robbers Attack Police Station, Bank in Ekiti … Uncomfirmed Casualties Recorded

Armed robbers reportedly attacked Access Bank in Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State, a few minutes ago.

Eyewitnesses told NewsmakersNG the robbers first attacked the police divisional headquarters in the town before storming the bank.

The bank is located close to the main market opposite the palace of the town’s monarch.

The eyewitnesses said the robbers killed a number of people, including policemen, during the attack but could not confirm the casualty figure.

It was learnt that the robbers acted on a tip off that the bank would receive a huge cash deposit today.

One of the eyewitnesses told NewsmakersNG, “Access Bank in Ijero Ekiti being robbed as we speak. They first hit the police station. There is casualty, number yet to be ascertained.”
