Breaking: Robbers Attack Ondo Bank, Kill Policeman, 6 Others

Armed robbers today attaked a branch of First Bank at Isewa quarters in Idoani, Ondo State, killing seven victims including a police inspector.

The robbers reportedly struck at about 2pm, shooting sporadically as they blew open the bank’s security door with dynamite.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the robbers operated for about one and a half hours before fleeing with their loot.

Eyewitnesses said some of those killed included four staff of the bank and two customers at the ATM point.

Eyewitnesses also said five people who sustained serious injuries were receiving treatment at the emergency section of the General Hospital in Idoani.

NewsmakersNG also learnt that some soldiers stationed in the area later engaged the robbers in a shootout, leading to the arrest of one suspect, while the rest fled.
