Breaking: Released Kankara Schoolboys Return to Katsina

After nearly a week in captivity, hundreds of schoolboys abducted from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, last Friday have returned to their home state of Katsina this morning.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the students, some of whom are still in their school uniform, were escorted into the state capital by security operatives.

The boys were released by their captors in Zamfara State yesterday night.

Governor Aminu Masari had yesterday night confirmed the release of 344 abducted schoolboys, adding that they would spend the night in Tsafe, Zamfara State.

The governor also said no ransom was paid before the boys were released.
