Video: Protesters Demand Exit of Amnesty International from Nigeria … Accuse Group of Supporting Terrorism

Malik Yahya:

In the wake of the Boko Haram attacks in Auno, Borno State on Sunday night, which claimed at least 30 persons, protesters today stormed the office of Amnesty International in Abuja to demand that the group should leave the country.

The protesters accuse the human rights group of being the brain behind all terror groups in Nigeria, including Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

They also accuse the group of supporting the agitations of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).

In a series of tweets, Amnesty International said the protesters who were brought in from suburbs of Abuja started gathering near its office this morning to register for the protest.

The inscription on some of the placards displayed by the protesters read, “Amnesty International you are the wheel behind Boko Haram, IMN, IPOB and ISWAP. Your support for terrorism is overwhelming. Leave Nigeria now.”

According to Amnesty International, the protesters have barricaded its office, preventing staff and visitors from entering or leaving the premises.

The Auno attack claimed the lives of innocent travellers, whose vehicles were set ablaze by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Many women and children were also reportedly abducted during the attack.

The video clips on the attacks showing burnt human bodies and vehicles went viral on social media yesterday.
