A Federal High Court in Lagos today acquitted and discharged a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and his Commissioner for Finance, Waheed Akanbi of N4.7 billion fraud leveled against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Mohammed Idris, while discharging the two men, said the prosecution failed to prove the 11-count charge against them beyond reasonable doubt.
The judge said the evidence of the witnesses presented by the prosecution were inconsistent and were also not sufficient to establish the alleged offences against Ladoja and his co-accused.
The judge therefore acquited and discharged them of all counts in the charge.
