An Abuja-based medical doctor is set to make history as the first individual to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria.
Dr. Cyprian Nyong, of the National Hospital, Abuja, is expected to receive a jab of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine today, as the country commences the vaccination of her citizens against the deadly virus.
The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, declared the exercise open on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari.
