Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and the House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa

The Lagos State House of Assembly is currently holding a plenary session to Impeach Governor Akinwunmi Ambode over alleged gross misconduct and misuse of power.

The lawmakers commenced the plenary at 5pm after a four-hour parliamentary session.

The assembly is specically accusing the governor of misappropriation of funds.

NewsmakersNG learnt that an adhoc committee set up by the assembly to investigate the allegations against the governor found him culpable.

The governor was also accused of spending money which had not been appropriated by the assembly.

Lagos-based TV station, TVC, which broke the news, tweeted on it’s handle, @tvcnewsng,: “JUST IN: Lagos lawmakers move to impeach Gov Akinwunmi ambode , they alleged gross misconduct. Plenary session in progress.”
