Gov Ganduje and the Emir of Kano on Eid el Fitr day

Malik Yahya/

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has given the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi III, 48 hours to convince the government why he should not be suspended.

Ganduje’s latest move in the lingering face-off with the Emir is conveyed in a query dated today in which the emirate is accused of mismanagement of N3.4 billion between 2014 and 2017.

The query requested the Emir to explain why the state government should not implement the report of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, which recommended his suspension.

The query entitled, ‘Re: Report of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission’, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji.
