Following the announcement of 10 new cases of COVID-19, the Federal Government has announced the closure of all the country’s airports to all international flights as part of the measures to curb spread of the disease.
This measure will take effect from March 23 to April 23, 2020.
According to a statement by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), no flight will be allowed to land at the International Airport from any country, except for essential and emergency flights.
The statement signed NCAA’s Director General, Capt. Musa Nuhu, says domestic flights will however continue normal operations.
The statement adds that flights from 13 coronavirus high-risk countries will also not be allowed into the country.
The affected airports include, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos; Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja; Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa; Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano and Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The federal government had earlier announced the closure of the last three from today.
