A multi-billion naira fraud investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has led to the arrest of a son of the late former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu
The suspect, Prince Mohammed Audu, NewsmakersNG exclusively gathered was arrested on Tuesday, February 18, for allegedly diverting funds to the tune of several millions of US Dollars and billions of naira donated to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to his personal use.
Investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly used two of his companies, Mediterranean Hotels Limited and Mediterranean Sports, to divert the funds, which he alleged could not account for.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the suspect would be charged to court as soon investigations are concluded.
EFCC authorities are yet to respond to enquiries on the details of the case against Audu.
