The suspected coronavirus case who was contracted by Dangote Industries Limited to work on its fertilizer plant in Lagos has tested negative for the infection.
Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, disclosed this in a tweet late yesterday.
The Indian national arrived Nigeria from Mumbai on Friday after a brief stopover in Cairo, Egypt.
He was admitted into the isolation centre in Yaba on Monday night after presenting with symptoms suggestive of coronavirus.
Abayomi’s tweet reads, “An Indian national that was admitted in our facility yesterday night with symptoms suggestive of #COVID19 has tested negative to #COVID19.
“He is doing perfectly well in our isolation unit. His case will be reviewed in the morning.”
