Breaking: Court Removes Ghandi as Soun, Orders Fresh Selection Process

An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso has nullified the appointment of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso.

The decision followed a suit filed by another contestant for the throne, Prince Kabir Olaoye, challenging Ghandi’s nomination and appointment.

Oyo State Government had announced Olaoye as the new Soun and the kingmakers of the town installed him on September 8, 2023.

The plaintiff had conteded that the process that led to Ghandi’s emergence was defective.
