Breaking: Bandits Invade Abuja, Attack Kuje Prison

Suspected bandits have launched an attack against Kuje prison, in Abuja.

The prison reportedly came under heavy bombardments by gunmen around 10.25pm, throwing the entire area into confusion.

The first explosion, a high capacity

The attackers detonated three bombs simultaneously, followed sporadic gunshots that left residents of surrounding areas scampering into safety.

A resident tweeted that the shooting had been going on for about one hour while there were three bomb explosions, which shook the foundation of the house she lives in.

Another resident tweeted that she saw some men, who appeared to be fleeing inmates, heading towards the river behind the prison.
