Maverick politician, Senator Arthur Nzeribe, who played a major role in the abortion of the Third Republic is dead, says a report in The Nation quoting a family source.

According to the source, the family is preparing a statement to announce the death.

Nzeribe reportedly died last night, 36 days to the 29th anniversary of the June 12, 1993 election which he worked with the military to annul.
