Unidentified armed men reportedly stormed Government Science Secondary School in Kankara local government area of Katsina State and kidnapped dozens of students from their dormitories in early hours of today.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the armed men, numbering over 50, arrived the school at about 11pm and left over two hours later.
Apart from students, the gunmen also abducted some of the residents living near the school premises.
They also reportedly shot a policeman and a security guard during the attack.
The remaining students, majority of whom escaped the attack by fleeing into the surrounding bush, have been evacuated to the local government secretariat by the police.
The incident happened two days after armed men kidnapped a village head and 20 others in Gamji village, Sabuwal local government area and barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in the state for a week-long private visit.
