The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal today commuted the 14-year jail term imposed on a former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, to 12.
Nyame was sentenced by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu, Abuja, earlier this year.
Justice Abdul Aboki-led three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, in addition to the 12-year sentence, imposed a fine of N525 million on the former governor.
The judge said the lower court had omitted the fine while dispensing the earlier sentence.
Earlier today, the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal had also commuted the 14-year prison sentence passed on a former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, to 10.
